Romeo Burke asked:

If you would like to know which team building exercise will work best for the team in question, it is advisable to undertake a personality testing session with the research and development wing. This helps understand the team and its members better and therefore assists greatly in deciding which team building exercise will be most suitable for the team.

CLIK HERE

Team building exercises are divided into two broad categories depending on their location. One is the outdoor activity, which takes the team members outside of the work arena; while the other is the indoor team building exercise, which is undertaken mostly within the office premises. However, there is a possibility to adopt a mix and match situation too, where the team building exercise may start in one location and end in another. An example of this is a treasure hunt which starts in the office and ends there too, but involves various trips outside of the office. Board games, picnics, video making, cooking, etc, are just a few examples of outdoor and indoor activities that help in team building. These physical activities help the team to learn to take on challenges and then allow them to bring their emotional challenges and accomplishments back to the work place.

Another popular form of exercise is workshops. These are mostly held offsite and the structure is facilitated with the entire group by concentrating on one particular issue without any interruptions. This type of team building exercise is said to be the most effective and involves group games, commercial problem solving activities, training programs, customer interaction forums, and other similar activities.

Social events are also a great way to instill great team spirit in the members of the team. The events can be dinners, lunches, cocktail parties, picnics, dance parties, etc. In short, these events are not business-like in nature, rather they relate to pleasurable and fun activities instead. Interestingly, unlike workshops and outdoor activities, social events are much cheaper to organize and do not absorb intense man power.

Charitable events are another popular way to introduce team building exercises to the work place. These events, in effect, allow the organizers to kill two birds with one stone. So while on one hand the charitable cause is given its attention, on the other hand the team is made stronger and more productive.

Skills based team building events are also highly popular and known to show good results. These exercises are built to teach the team members to reach unanimous decisions, overcome conflicts, and give and receive feedback in a progressive fashion.

Problem solving programs also act as effective tools in team building. These are designed in a manner that allows teams to come closer as a group, and tackle the problem at hand, with minimal cost and maximum advantage.

There are many such team building exercises that are highly fruitful in meeting their objectives. Keeping feedback on these exercises will help decide over the years about the suitability of these activities and the cost involved in hosting them.

http://astore.amazon.com/indoorteambuildinggames-20

Click here to view my other items

Caffeinated Content
